The Advantages of a Local-Global Connection for Independent Communications Agencies

In Stresa, Italy, the PROI Worldwide Global Summit brought together the largest global network of independent communications agencies this past May. The event, titled “Connecting for Growth,” also marked an important milestone: the 55th anniversary of its founding in London in 1970.

With 92 affiliated agencies and over 8,800 professionals in 165 cities and 72 countries, PROI is the fifth-largest consolidated communications group in the world—and the only one among the top five based on a collaboration model between independent professionals.

Over four days, I had the opportunity to speak with several agency leaders about the benefits of being independent and having a local-global connection—not just for business, but also for delivering more and better opportunities for our clients. Here are the main advantages we’ve seen over these past three years as the exclusive PROI member in Chile:
