Claudio is a journalist at heart. He is one of those whose work stands out and doesn’t go unnoticed in the main Chilean news outlets, New York or Puerto Rico.
After he graduated from Universidad Católica, he already had one foot at “Qué Pasa” magazine as a business editor, which meant that soon after, he was highly regarded by other news outlets as diverse as “Caras,” “Cosas,” and “El Sábado” magazines and “La Segunda” and “El Mercurio” newspapers.
He is an opera fan. He has been chatty since he was born, which allows him to feel comfortable in any context and he always, at any moment, has something to contribute. This is the reason why it should not come as a surprise that once he had the chance to travel to Puerto Rico for work, he decided to stay there after a while and work at one of the island’s most influential newspapers in a culture that he admits is “complex, because it is a blend between North America and the Caribbean, but embellished with amazing beaches and a delicious cuisine.”
During his more than 30 years of experience, many anecdotes could be mentioned (starting from his work at La Moneda presidential palace up to his role as head of communications and management of the National Oil Company –ENAP–, including his role as a correspondent in NY) but there is no doubt that what summarizes the best part of his experience is his arrival at Simplicity as General Director of Communications “to… once again, learn another side of this profession”. This is why he has never stopped teaching. Because for him, teaching is the best way to continue to learn.
