Simplicity Adds Andrés Benítez as Partner and Strengthens its Operations in the US

  • The former rector of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and former CEO of Grupo Copesa joins alongside two new partners.
  • Additionally, the agency, unique in Chile with a presence in the United States, launches new areas and services to continue its growth both domestically and internationally.

Simplicity announced the incorporation of three new partners and expanded its service offering to drive growth in Chile, the United States, and across the region.

Joining the communications agency, which has over 12 years in the market and is the first Chilean firm in the sector with operations in the United States, are Andrés Benítez, former rector of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and former CEO of Grupo Copesa; journalist Margaret Valenzuela; and publicist Tomás Castiglioni.

This brings the company to a total of eight partners, including its founders Matías Cartajena, Paula Lacámara, and Eduardo Bertrán, as well as Christian Viancos and Emigdio Rojas, managing partner of Simplicity in the United States.

“To compete internationally and continue growing in Chile, it was necessary to bring in more talent and deepen our service offerings,” said Matías Cartajena, CEO of Simplicity.

New Service Areas

Simplicity’s new service offering is structured into six key areas aimed at creating a comprehensive and full-service system:

  • Business Communication Intelligence
  • Communication and Reputation
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Crisis, Disputes, and Risks
  • Brand Development and Management
  • Public and Corporate Affairs

The implementation of digital strategies and the use of AI have been integral to the company for several years.

Each area will be led by a partner:
“As part of our strategic plan for the next five years, it’s crucial that all our clients are managed by at least one partner and have access to all the solutions they need in-house. Our team’s purpose is to simplify communications to make life easier for our clients,” added Matías Cartajena.

Statements from Andrés Benítez

Andrés Benítez emphasized that Simplicity’s new structure responds to the evolving communication challenges faced by companies and organizations.

“It’s a multidisciplinary approach that addresses problems from every angle to deliver the best possible solution. The idea is to make the complex simple. That’s why our promise is: we solve, period.”

He also highlighted the value of Simplicity’s presence in the United States, stressing that having substantial experience in developed markets is crucial in today’s world.

Operations in the United States

After a successful decade in the Chilean market, Simplicity expanded to the United States in 2021, becoming the first Chilean agency with operations in the world’s largest economy.

Over the past four years, Simplicity has advised more than 30 companies, including Chilean and Latin American firms aiming to establish themselves in the U.S., as well as American companies looking to implement projects in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.

The U.S. client portfolio includes Philip Morris International, MetLife, VSPT Global’s ecommerce creation and implementation, SONDA, ProChile USA, Wines of Chile USA, Ö-61, Graffigna Wines, Consulting IQ, Endeavor Miami, and World Strategic Forum, among others.

Last year, the campaign for Ö-61 wine, created and executed by Simplicity across the United States and launched by VSPT Wine Group, was a finalist for Best Digital Campaign in the SABRE Awards, one of the industry’s most prestigious global recognitions.

“If in just three years we’ve managed to compete head-to-head with the world’s largest communications firms in the most sophisticated market, we believe we have a unique opportunity to grow exponentially in the United States and Latin America. Even more so now, as we expand our service offering and incorporate top-tier talent,” said Matías Cartajena.
